Buyer Terms & Conditions

1. Registration & Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and create a registered account to participate in auctions or purchase from the store.
All information provided during registration must be accurate, current, and complete.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

2. Card on File Requirement

A valid credit or debit card must be registered and verified on your account before placing any bid.
By registering a card and placing a bid, you authorise Joneses at Willow to charge that card for any lots you win.
You may update your payment method at any time via your account settings.

3. Bidding

All bids are binding — by placing a bid you enter a legally binding offer to purchase at the bid amount plus Buyer’s Premium (18%) and applicable taxes.
Bids cannot be retracted except where a documented error is approved by Joneses at Willow staff.
Proxy bidding— the system bids on your behalf up to your stated maximum. Your maximum bid is kept confidential.
Anti-snipe protection — bids placed in the final 3 minutes automatically extend closing time by 3 minutes.

4. Payment

When an auction closes, winning bidders’ cards on file are charged automatically for the total amount due (Hammer Price + 18% Buyer’s Premium + applicable taxes).
If automatic payment fails, you must complete payment within 48 hours. Failure to pay may result in suspension of bidding privileges and/or legal action.
All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Ontario HST (13%) applies to purchases shipped within Ontario.
Store purchases are charged at checkout via Stripe.

5. Shipping & Pickup

The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs unless otherwise stated in the listing.
Local pickup is available by appointment in the Kawartha Lakes area. Items must be collected within 3 business days.
Risk of loss transfers to the buyer upon handoff to the shipping carrier.
US shipments are sent Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU). The buyer is responsible for any customs duties or import taxes.

6. Returns

Auction lots— all auction sales are final. Items are sold “as is, where is” without warranty.
Store purchases — may be returned within 14 days of delivery, in original condition, with proof of purchase. Buyer pays return shipping.
Custom, consignment, or “final sale” items are excluded from returns.

7. Account Conduct

You agree not to engage in shill bidding, bid manipulation, harassment, or any activity that undermines auction integrity. Violations may result in immediate account suspension and potential legal action.
